We start our Budapest sightseeing tour at the magnificent Castle District and during a short walk we show you the main attractions of the area. We walk to Matthias Church and to the Fishermen’s Bastion (from where you can enjoy the beautiful panorama). Next, we drive to Gellért Hill (Citadel) and show you the most spectacular view of Budapest. We then take you across the Elisabeth Bridge to Pest and show you the famous Central Market Hall, followed by the largest Synagogue of Europe and the City Park. We pass by Europe’s largest thermal spa and the Budapest Zoo, after which we stop at the Heroes’ Square (with statues of the most famous Hungarian kings and dukes). We then take the Andrássy Avenue to downtown Pest, pass by the Opera House and the St Stephen’s Basilica. We then show you the impressive neo-gothic House of Parliament. During the tour we offer a brief overview of the last 1000 years of Hungarian history.
About 18:30 we start an amazing 2 hour-long river cruise on the Danube. During the dinner you can admire the magnificent panorama of Budapest, which was added to the World Cultural Heritage List by UNESCO. According to their justification, the banks of the Danube at Budapest also illustrate the various periods of the capital's history, and furthermore the city has one of the world's outstandingly beautiful urban cityscapes. The World Heritage site inscribed in 1987 stretched from the Chain Bridge (Clark Ádám Square) to the Technical University on the Buda side - an area containing the Gellért Baths, Gellért Mountain with its Freedom Monument and the Citadella, and also the building ensemble of the Buda Castle.
We take off the boat at 20:30 and go to the hotel to occupy the rooms.
